A visit to the new Chimei Museum in Tainan

This weekend was a great one! On Saturday a small group of us took the train up to Tainan and my friend Flora met us there and drove us to the Chimei Museum. Museum Link This museum is a private museum owned by the Chi Mei Corporation and it was quite impressive. One of the parents at KAS gave the school 6 tickets and we took advantage of heading over there to visit this new museum that just opened a few weeks ago.

The museum looks the U.S. Capital building and is quite impressive, even from a distance. The grounds leading to the museum were blooming and the bridge to the main entrance was lined with marble statues of Roman gods.

This is an image from the museum website! You can see how impressive this place is!

As my friends and family battle feet of snow in the states, I can't help but revel in all of the flowers and greenery there still is here. I'm not missing winter one little bit!

Chimei Museum had an amazing collection of Western art,  wide collections of Western art, musical instruments (including a huge array of stringed instruments and music boxes), weaponry and natural history (which focused on the evolution of life on earth).
